Bible+ is a free (GPL -licensed*)
Bible reader for Palm OS derived from the original BibleReader that
was created by Poetry Poon. BibleReader was previously hosted here at SourceForge ,
and was open-source under the GPL. Since then, Mr. Poon has taken
his project commercial, allowing him to sell copyrighted versions (such
as the NIV), but also preventing others from fixing or adding features
to his latest project. Though it'd be nice if he kept the display code
open-source and used only a closed-source decoding module, I do see
some benefits t
o a commercial scheme.
In March 2003, I got tired of not having a Chinese bible on my Palm (a
TungstenT|T). The result was a fork of an old version of the
BibleReader project. Several bugfixes and features later, I have
developed Bible+, which runs on the PalmOS between 3.5 and 5.
